Mason Cash Cat Saucers: Perfect for Food and Water? A Review

When it comes to feeding our feline friends, the right bowl can make a world of difference. Mason Cash, a brand renowned for its kitchenware, has extended its expertise to petware with a range of cat saucers that promise both style and functionality. But are these saucers truly perfect for food and water? In this review, we'll dive deep into the design, quality, and practicality of Mason Cash cat saucers to help you decide if they're the right choice for your cat.

Mason Cash has been a household name since 1791, known for its iconic mixing bowls and bakeware. Their venture into pet products brings the same craftsmanship and aesthetic appeal. With options like the Mason Cash Colour Mix saucers and the classic grey designs, there's a lot to consider. Let's explore what makes these saucers stand out and whether they live up to the brand's reputation.

Design and Aesthetics: More Than Just a Bowl

Mason Cash cat saucers are designed with the same attention to detail as their human-grade kitchenware. The Colour Mix range, for instance, features vibrant hues that can brighten up any feeding area. The Mason Cash Set of 2 Colour Mix 13cm Cream Cat Saucers offer a soft, neutral tone that blends seamlessly with modern interiors, while the pink variant adds a playful pop of color. These saucers are not just functional; they're decorative pieces that reflect your personal style.

The classic grey cat saucer, such as the Mason Cash Ginger Cat Bowl 16 x 13cm, showcases the brand's signature speckled finish, reminiscent of their beloved mixing bowls. This design not only looks charming but also hides scratches and wear over time. The shallow, wide shape of the saucers is particularly appealing to cats who prefer to eat without their whiskers touching the sides, a common issue with deeper bowls. This thoughtful design makes mealtime more comfortable for your pet.

• Shallow design prevents whisker fatigue
• Speckled finish hides wear and tear
• Colour Mix range offers vibrant or neutral options

Quality and Durability: Built to Last

Mason Cash is synonymous with durability, and their cat saucers are no exception. Made from high-quality ceramic, these saucers are sturdy and resistant to chips and cracks, even with daily use. The non-porous surface ensures that food and water don't seep into the material, preventing bacteria buildup and making them easy to clean. Whether you're using them for dry kibble, wet food, or water, you can trust that they'll withstand the test of time.

The weight of these saucers is another plus. They're heavy enough to stay in place while your cat eats, reducing spills and messes. This is particularly important for enthusiastic eaters who tend to push their bowls around. The glazed finish is also smooth and non-toxic, ensuring your cat's safety. With proper care, these saucers can last for years, making them a worthwhile investment for any cat owner.

• High-quality ceramic construction
• Non-porous surface for hygiene
• Heavy enough to prevent tipping

Practicality for Food and Water: The Verdict

So, are Mason Cash cat saucers perfect for both food and water? The answer is a resounding yes. The shallow design is ideal for food, allowing your cat to eat comfortably without whisker stress. For water, the wide opening ensures easy access, and the ceramic material keeps water cool and fresh, which cats often prefer. The saucers are also dishwasher safe, making cleanup a breeze. You can even use them for wet food, as the smooth surface doesn't trap odors or stains.

One consideration is the size. The 13cm saucers, like the Mason Cash Set of 2 Purrfect Cat Bowl 13 x 4cm, are perfect for small to medium portions, but if your cat is a big eater, you might want to opt for the larger 16cm options. The 16cm bowls, such as the Smokey Cat Bowl 16 x 13cm, offer more capacity and are still shallow enough to be comfortable. Ultimately, the choice depends on your cat's needs and your feeding routine.

• Dishwasher safe for easy cleaning
• Wide opening for water access
• Available in multiple sizes to suit different needs

Comparing Mason Cash Cat Saucers to Other Options

When compared to standard plastic or metal bowls, Mason Cash cat saucers stand out for their aesthetic appeal and durability. Plastic bowls can harbor bacteria and are prone to scratching, while metal bowls can be noisy and may cause allergies in some cats. Ceramic saucers offer a middle ground, providing stability and hygiene without compromising on style. The Mason Cash brand also offers a unique advantage: the ability to match your cat's feeding station with your kitchen's decor, thanks to the Colour Mix range.

The Mason Cash Set of 2 Leopard Print Cat Bowls 13 x 4cm are a fun, trendy option that adds a wild touch to your home. These limited-edition designs are not only functional but also make great gifts for cat lovers. While they may cost a bit more than generic bowls, the quality and design justify the price. If you're looking for a saucer that combines form and function, Mason Cash is a top contender.

• Ceramic beats plastic and metal for hygiene and stability
• Colour Mix and leopard print offer unique aesthetics
• Higher price point but superior quality

In conclusion, Mason Cash cat saucers are an excellent choice for both food and water, combining elegant design with practical functionality. Whether you prefer the classic grey, the vibrant Colour Mix, or the playful leopard print, these saucers are built to last and keep your cat happy.
